What a short week!!
Reminders:
Monday: Adventure logs due
SKATING!! Period 4 (12:50-1:50). Mrs. Wereley will be taking the grade 2/3 class to the City rink next to the school.
*** We continue to look for volunteers! (We only have 1 out of 2 parent volunteers needed)
Due to our ratios, we will need at least 1 more parent volunteer for our upcoming skating days. If we don't have enough adults, I may have to cancel future skating days. ****

Please dress for the weather (hats- without pompoms, gloves/ mittens, snow pants, etc...) for skating.
Tuesday: Library. Please return any library books.
Please note: I am currently writing report cards for the first semester. Please keep an eye out for some evaluations and work going home that your child has completed. Please sign and return any evaluations.
Language:
We continue to work on procedural writing. Students selected a "How to" topic and are working on writing the steps.
We also wrote as a class a How to piece on "How To Build A Snowman".
Math:
We continue to work on 2D geometry. Students will likely have a geometry assessment later in the week. Please review concepts at home:
- Properties of polygons and their names
- Constructing images using the polygons. (what polygons can be used to cover another shape design)
- Grade 3- Angles (right, acute and obtuse).
- Line of symmetry

Science:
Grade 2s continue to study air and water.
We have been looking at the water cycle, the importance of air and water, and how to conserve water.
Grade 3s continue to study soil.
We have been looking at the different types of soil, how soil is made, and the importance of soil.
