Our grade 2/3 class filled the Marble Jar this week! Way to go!!! By filling the jar, by following expectations as a class, the students earned a class prize (a movie - The Secret Life of Pets)

What we learned this week:
Language:
We continue to work on our persuasive writing unit. Students are learning the O.R.E.O. acronym for writing a persuasive paragraph. O= Opinion, R= Reason, E= Example/Explain, and O= Opinion.
Today we started to complete a graphic organizer on a pet we would like.
Math:
We are continuing with 3D geometry and have also started our measurement unit.
Social Studies:
We started a new unit this week.
Grade 2s: World Connections
Grade 3s: Living and Working in Ontario
Gym:
We went snowshoeing on Thursday (the gym was in use). We also learned 2 new games with M. Leroux's class. (Working on throwing skills)
Art:
Working on the concept of lines.
Health:
Started a new unit on substances (medications)
Books we read this week: (Please take the time to discuss concepts from the book with your child).
