We continue to receive postcards from across Canada!  We received5 today!!  One from Saskatchewan, 2 from Ontario, and 2 for BC! We are running out of room to place all of our letters from our postcard pals!

This week we also had National Adminitrative Professionals Day.  Mme. Wereley has the students create a Thank-you/ Merci card for Jennifer, Dawn, and Tammy (the lovely ladies who run the office at Roberta Bondar).

What we were learning this week:

Language: Continue for EQAO prep.
Started our animal/plant research Non-fiction projects

Math: Started our quick time unit.  Please review analog and digital time with your child.  They must be able to tell and record time at this age to the hour, half hour, quarter after, and quarter to.

Science: Grade 2s continued to explore different animal families.

Grade 3s:  Plant adaptations, continued our stem investigation and planted some seeds in soil and in plastic cups.

Both grades started a cross-curricular research project.  They selected their animal (grade 2) or plant (grade 3) to do research on over the upcoming weeks.

Here is an example of the project:

Art:  We worked on Splat art based on the artwork of Paul Jackson Pollock. Students had fun working on this art.  They selected 3 colours, and "painted" using a cardboard box and marbles!  We are using the artwork to create SPLAT stories/paragraphs.
