The Grade 2s working on addition using the base-ten blocks.

Language: We continued to explore the Nutcracker.  Students are working on various language and reading based activities based on this book.

Health: We started our unit on safety this week.  We happened to have a bus safety presentation on Monday. Buster the Bus came and told us about the rules of boarding and riding a school bus.  Thanks Buster!

Today the Grade 2s brainstormed things that can be a risk at home.  Grade 3s brainstormed rules for walking to and from school.

Art: We read the book "Snowmen At Night" and made snowmen using pastels based from the book.  Students used the theory of value (light and dark) and cool colours.  Many teachers have given their compliments on the students' artwork!!  Great job guys!!

We made our Pringle Can Nutcrackers today with Mrs. Tsiolas' grade 3 EFI classes.  They kids had a great deal of fun making them!  Loved how each nutcracker has their own personality.

Science: We completed out science units this week.  Students wrote a science test.  Hoping to get these tests marked ASAP!

We will go back to Social studies next week.  Grade 3s will look at Pioneers (get us ready for our field trip) and Grade 2s will continue with Celebrations and Traditions.
