*** On Wednesday I sent home 2 packages.  Your child can work on these packages for practice while they are not at school.  In addition, they can review concepts we are learning in class at home; read daily, and practice writing.

Valentine's Day:  Students enjoyed handing out and receiving Valentine's from their classmates.

What we did this week:

Language:  We continued to look at fact vs opinion.  Students will begin to write persuasive paragraphs this week. Students will be asked to use facts, rather than opinions in their writing to persuade their audience.

Math: We continue to explore 3D figures.  Students identified the characteristics of the 3D figure (faces, edges, and vertices), and built 3D figures using nets.

Here is a great website to review with your child.   https://sites.google.com/site/communitiesinontario/home/landforms-of-ontario

Art:  Students worked on Op art hearts (optical illusions). End result: hearts look like they are 3D and popping out of the page, when in fact, they are 2D.  The curved lines allow for this illusion.
