Happenings this week:

The Grade 3 students completed this Swim to Survive course.  They received their certificates on Thursday. 

We had our monthly certificate assembly.  Congratulation to Rouaa for receiving a certificate for perseverance as she continues to develop her English Language Skills.  Congratulations to  Cora and Kota.  Both received a certificate from Ms. Kelly as they completed their LLI reading group just before March Break.  Hard work pays off!!!!

We received another postcard for our bulletin board (The Canadian Postcard Exchange).  It was from a grade 2 class in Sarnia, Ontario. 




What we learned/ worked on this week:

Language: We are starting to focus on Non-fiction texts.

Math:  We are starting to wrap up our unit on linear measurement.  Students worked on perimeter and area this week.  Unit quiz next week!

Social Studies:  Grade 2s starting to look at different countries and communities around the world.  Grade 3s, continuing to work on landforms in Ontario.

Art: Completed our scratch art and started an integrated art activity linking math and art.  Students were to write their name in block letters on grid paper and must solve the perimeter and area for their name and the individual letters.
