It is hard to believe we have only 4 more school days left to the school year!
Reminders:
Monday: Primary assembly
Tuesday: Report cards go home
Wednesday: Winterwood field trip. 11:50-1:50. So far we will be going rain or shine unless there are thundershowers.
** Please bring: bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, flipflops/sandals, hat, water bottle, and a plastic bag for wet clothes.
Thursday: The last day of school.
What did we do this past week:
The grade 8s surprised the class for the kindness tag challenge at Bondar. They painted rocks with kindness messages and hide them around the play structure. The students went on a rock hunt for their kindness rock.
We had a MASC French presentation
The grade 2s were invited to join the French Immersion grade 2s to create playgrounds as a part of their simple machines science unit.

The grade 3s spent the week acting as engineers. They were assigned the task to work with a partner to design and build a strong and stable bridge that needed to hold a load. They were allowed to use popsicle sticks, glue, string, and tape. Their bridge needed to be 30 cm in length and should demonstrate what they have learned throughout the science unit about structures.
The grade 2s made rubber band cars to wrap up our simple machines unit.
We started to make math board games. The students seem to really enjoy this activity. Hopefully, we can play them this week!
This week the school had to say goodbye to our ducks in the courtyard. A few teachers (including myself) safely captured all 13 ducks. They were transported to a pond near the Sawmill Creek area.
