What did we do this week:

Today we attended the Terry Fox Run kickoff assembly.  OnThursday Sept 26 (rain or shine) all students will be participating in our annual run.  Classes were asked to establish a fundraising goal and a reward (if goal is met).  Our class decided on trying to raise $50.  If successful, we will earn a movie.  Students are asked to bring in any donations by Thursday.

Congratulations Grade 3s, we filled up our marble jar!!  We earned a class prize and the prize chosen by the class was a Pajama Day!  Keep it up Grade 3s!

Language:  We continued to work on our personal narratives. If you want to practice at home, have students pick a topic like recess, favourite trip, favourite holiday, etc...  have them brainstorm what happened.  Then pick one of the ideas and focus on it.  Describe what happened, how did they feel, who was there, etc... Students are encouraged to use transition words such as first, next, lastly.... to describe the sequence of events.
