What we learned this week:

Language: Continue to practice for EQAO.  We are working on reading comprehension and how to answer the questions.
We also continued to work on our media assignment of creating cereal box covers.  They are looking very sharp and fantastic!!

Everyone has also completed their SPLAT art writing. Their stories are quite creative to go along with their artwork!

Math: We are jumping around this week to a few different math topics to ensure students have a glimpse of all possible types of math questions.  We will examine these areas more after EQAO.  We started to look at probability (the likelihood of an event occurring) and money.  Grade 2 students need to work with amounts up to $1.00. Grade 3 students need to work with amounts up to $10.00.  Please practice money at home.  Give your child a specific amount (for example $6.74) and asked them to show you as many ways to make that amount.

Science: We continue to work on our projects.  These projects will be due on Friday, May 24. We will continue to work on them throughout the week.

Health: We continued our discussion on legal and illegal substances, harmful effects and addiction.  For example, caffeine, sugar, and tobacco.

Here are some videos we watched in class.:  (Some very "retro" commercials)
